Thermal baths at Negratin Lake
« on: August 12, 2011, 07:39:00 AM »
Has anyone been to the hot baths at baños de Zujar at lake Negratin?

Is it possible to swim in the lake?

I went there about a week ago.
Unfortunately I got there too late and it was not possible to go to the thermal baths.

There is a long bath about 40 metres long which fills up with the thermal spa water.
The temperature of the water is 32 C

It is possible to hire towels and the is a changing room.

It costs about 2.50 to get in and 1 euro for children.

There is a restaurant next to the thermal spa.

You don't have to go to the thermal spa.
You can swim in any part of the lake for free.

There is a path down the side of the restaurant which leads into the water.

The water is really pleasant to swim in.

There is no chlorine and the temperature is about 25C.

Make sure you get into the water slowly at first  because you can stub your toes.

The Negratin lake is about 100km from Granada on the road towards Murcia.
Go to Zujar then follow the signs to aguas termales.

By the way a lot of maps show a road across the centre of the lake.
This does not exist and is submerged.
