I am potentially interested in renting an apartment I have seen next to Mirador de San Nicolas for the period 16-22 October, 6 nights.

I have problems walking long distances and uphill.

How easily can I access the Alhambra and other major historical and historical sites?

ACCOMMODATION

First of all the AlbaicĂn is not the best place to stay if you have limited mobility.
It is on a hill with lots of steps and cobblestone streets.

However it is not impossible as long as the place you stay is on the 31 or 32 bus route.

In my opinion the best place to stay if you have limited mobility is the Realejo.

There are lots of shops for food and provisions, terrace bars, old churches, restauarants etc and it is fairly flat.

I would recommend that you stay in an apartment with a lift such as:

A good one with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a private terrace is this one.

HISTORICAL SITES

Here is a list of the major sites:

You  can get a ticket to see all of them here.
http://www.granadamap.com/bono/index.htm

  • Alhambra and Generalife
  • Cathedral
  • Royal Chapel
  • Carthusian Monastery
  • Science Park

Here is some advice:

Cathedral and Royal Chapel
From the Realejo you can get to the Cathedral and Royal Chapel walking.
They are  about 500 metres.
See map

Alhambra
When you go to the Alhambra it is best to go into a special entrance which avoids the 600 metre walk from the ticket office to the Nazrid Palaces. Depending on how well you walk you may have to omit the Alcazaba (fortress castle with ramparts).

There a map and more info on this page under - Reduced mobility access

There is a map of a special reduced access route of the Alhambra on this page.
Look for Disabled access:

To get to the Alhambra you would use the minibus.

Carthusian Monastery
The "hop on hop off" bus goes there.
There is a bus stop next to the Cathedral.
Maybe you get a hop on hop off bus ticket for one day of your stay and go to the monastery on this day.

Science Park
The science park is a little out of town. Maybe get a taxi which would cost about 5 euros each way.
