I have lived in Spain for many years and I have never been to a bullfight.
I just don't like seeing animals suffer.
I personally can't see the attraction.
I was once invited to a farm near Sevilla where the bulls are bred and brought up.
They live in excellent conditions and if it wasn't for the last hour of their lives they would have very little to complain about.
From a morals point of view it would be much worse to eat broiler house eggs than to attend a bullfight.
You can spend many hours debating the rights and wrongs of bullfighting.
Anyway, I will try and answer your question:
Bull fights are not like football matches which are on every weekend.
Most cities only have bullfights at holiday periods and fiestas.
The bullfights in Granada are held at Feria del Corpus which is at the time of Corpus Christi
The dates of the Corpus Christi for the next few years are the following.
3 June 2010
23 June 2011
7 June 2012
30 May 2013
19 June 2014
4 June 2015
26 May 2016
15 June 2017
31 May 2018
20 June 2019
11 June 2020
There is also often a bullfight in Granada on the last Sunday of September for the
Feria de la Virgen de las Angustias
I don't know the best way to buy tickets in advance.
These web sites have ticket information.
http://www.ticketstoros.com/ingles/venta.htmlClick here if the above one stops working
http://www.ticketstoros.com/http://www.ticktackticket.comAs you can see if you click on the links there are many more bullfights in Sevilla and Madrid than Granada. So if you really want to see a bullfight it may be better to go another city.
You could commute in one day if there is a bullfight in either Jaen or Cordoba.
The bullring or "Plaza de Toros" is nor right in the centre of Granada and it would be best to get a taxi.
It would cost about 7 euros form Plaza Nueva (March 2010)
