Eating in Granada / Re: Any restaurants that serve English type food please?
« Last post by John on July 23, 2019, 06:15:04 AM »
There was an English restaurant but it closed down.

Granada has some great food options and it would be a pity to not try Spanish food.

A lot of Spanish restaurants would make something something special for your father as long as it is simple.
If you explain to them that your father has a delicate stomach they could make something sufficiently bland.

Maybe boiled potatoes, some peas and a pork chop.

Most platos combinados restaurants have food that is very international.

Of course you could go to burger king or Macdonalds.

The cost in 2019 should be between 35 and 41 euros.

To see the estimated cost from any hotel to the airport look at this page.

Miscellaneous / Re: Insects in my Geraniums

You have got the "taladro de los geraneos"
You can buy a spray at a garden center or in Plaza Larga for this.

There is a page with more information for aficionados of geraniums on this page.

Miscellaneous / Insects in my Geraniums

I live in the Albaicin and I have a balcony with geraniums.  They keep dying. They lose condition and get holes in the stem.
I opened one of the stems and there was a small grub inside. It looked like it was eating it from the inside.

What can I do?

You can print  the tickets at home or just show the screen of your smartphone.

You only need to go to the main entrance if you have want to get a special concessionary ticket which could be for a handicapped person or a child.

By far the easiest way of getting into the Alhambra for most people is the Justice Gate. (Puerta de la juticia)

There is full information about how to get there here.

This page with information about the layout of the Alhambra will help you understand things.

Hi - my wife and I are visiting Granada in mid October.
We are staying near Plaza Nueva and we don't have a car.
I can see on the official site that tickets are available.
Is it possible to buy the tickets and print them off at home on our own printer. ( we just want two adult tickets- not any concession tickets)?

If we get to the Alhambra with our own tickets  do we have to join the queues for entry? I’ve heard that the queues are long. Or can we just enter with our tickets.

Any advice would be welcome.

What to do in Granada / Re: Day Trips from Granada
« Last post by Steven Wellington on June 10, 2018, 01:46:03 AM »
There are plenty of day trips you can go on just on the bus for example Guadix or Cordoba.
For bus info click here
https://alsa.es

The commercial day trips tend to be quite expensive but if you want to have an all included trip some of them may be interesting.

There is a day trip to the  Caminito del Rey if you have a head for heights and several more.
