INTERNET AT HOMEIf you really want internet at home there there are 2 possibilities.
Hack a into a neighbour's connection or use mobile phone.
The first thing you should try is to see if there any open wi-fi networks.
If a neighbour has not put a password on the router you will be able to connect for free. As long as you don't go over the top and download films or use peer to peer software nobody will notice nor care. If you can find out who the neighbour is you can even ask for permission.
With windows XP or vista it is very easy to see which networks are available.
GPRS 3G PHONE CHIPThe best option at the time of writing (July 2009) without a contract is to get a YOIGO chip.
The price is maximum 1.2 euros per day. Almost anywhere in Spanish cities have a high speed 3G conexion which can even be faster than ADSL.
Another advantage of YOIGO is that you can use the same chip to make phone calls.
Just go into any YOIGO shop and buy a "tarjeta pre-pago" (pay as you go chip)
The only problem with using a phone chip is that if you are very bad with computers you may find it difficult to connect but with a little patience it's not very difficult.
You can use almost any modern mobile phone which has bluetooth. Just pair the computer with the phone then use the phone as a modem. The software which comes with Nokia phones will let you do this very easilly but you can do it just with windows.
The setting needed to conect with yoigo are
APN: internet
User: (nothing)
Password: (nothing)
If you are ever asked for a phone number when configuring the conection put *99# but if you need a lot of help put "Setting Up a GPRS Connection for Windows" into google.
An easier way to connect is to get a USB dongle but they may be expensive if you are not getting a contract with minimum stay clause. (permanecia de ** meses)
