I have read that the engineering works on the train line between Granada and Malaga will cause disruptions.

Do you have any information?

The European union has given Granada a grant of 600 million euros in order to finish the high speed stretch of  track which will link it to the high speed network.

The work must be finished by the end of 2015 or the money has to be given back.

The journey time from Granada to Madrid is now 4 hours 25 minutes.
Afterwards it will be 2 hours 45 minutes.

Consequently there is disruption on all the trains in and out of Granada.
The train company is using buses to carry people across the affected routes so if you have bought a train ticket you don't have to worry.

However it may be a good idea to get a bus at this time

Does anyone know the progress on the train line? Will it likely be completed by late December?
